Kjerstin Almqvist, Clinical psychologist/psychotherapist, with more than 20 years experience with traumatized children and families.
Ph. D. in 1997, Gothenburg University, Department of Psychology. Several studies focused on mental health and social adjustment in children exposed to violence in different settings, with core concepts such as family dynamics, coping strategies and posttraumatic stress. Contributer to several anthologies in child psychology. Kjerstin Almqvist has been running the recent project “Children who have witnessed their mother being battered” in Gothenburg, where children and their mothers at the women shelters were investigated.
